THE PANORAMIC PFANDERSPITZE AND THE ALPEN WILDPARK
The Mount Pfander (Pfanderspitze) is the panoramic balcony of the Constance lake. The new cable car (Pfänderbahn) will wizz you off to the up station where you may savour the magnificent view of the region. Another option would be to walk there, following the path which leaves from the city centre.
Just beside the arrival station you can visit the free "Alpen wildpark", with typical Alpine animals in a quiet reserve area.

Just walking 15min from the cable car station you will reach easily the top of the Pfanderspitze, just beside the mountain huts where is possibile to enjoy a fresh beer and a typical alpine meal.

USEFUL INFORMATION
We have climbed in all areas including the best routes in the region. The Boulder areas are within short and easy walking distance.
If you want to climb in Tessin, you will need a car. If you don’t have it, we highly recommend you to hire one easily here.
For those of you needing to rent Crash Pads, we recommend that you ask the very kind owners of the Alpha boulder gym in Giubiasco.
We used with Ticinoboulder Guide and found it well written and intuitive.
The magnitude of the boulder area enables you to go climb practically, all year round. For the warmer months we recommend: The St. Gotthard, Chironico and Calanca valley areas.

IN THE CITY OF BELLINZONA:
1. Visit the UNESCO castles and their museums: Castelgrande, Montebello and Sasso Corbaro.
2. Stroll in the old town centre and watch out for the interesting angles of the little town. Enjoy an aperitif at the many bars on the famous boardwalk.

Bellinzona is located in the Ticino region. It is well connected and accessible by pubblic transport.
If you arrive by car, there is a convenient underground car park in Piazza del Sole square, right in the centre, at the foot of the lift to the well-known Castelgrande.
The 3 castles may be reached comfortably on foot, by a path running along the walls or by using the touristic train which leaves from Piazza Collegiata.
If you want to climb in Tessin, you will need a car. If you don’t have it, we highly recommend you to hire one easily here.

LOCARNO FILM FESTIVAL STARS AT LAKE MAGGIORE
TheLocarno Film Festival is the most significant cinema related events in Switzerland and considered to be one of the most important in Europe.
The heart of the Festival is certainly Piazza Grande, featuring evening projections under the stars on one of the biggest screens in the world and deserving of the title; "the most beautiful open-air cinema lounge”ever.
International producers, directors and actors come to Locarno to present their movies. Their appearance on the red carpet gives a glamorous touch to the Festival.
The most significant cinema related events in Switzerland.
We had the fortune of attending an evening film screening in Piazza Grande, Locarno and we have to admit the atmosphere was astonishing.
After the festival, we suggest you finish off the evening at the Rotonda de Festival. In fact, during the Film Festival, the grand Rotonda at the entrance of Locarno becomes a huge village under the star filled night with street food and ethnic stalls.

The film festival is held in August. Some projections are reserved to the project organizers and others for the general public.
The tickets can be bought online or directly at the entrance in Piazza grande. We advise you to park your car at the station or at the Castello multi storey car park

The Ascona Jazz Festival is dedicated to classic jazz and New Orleans style music. If you are in Ascona or region during the third week of June make sure not to miss this fantastic event.

The Ascona Jazz Festival is usually on during the third week of June. Entrance to the Festival is free during the week but it is payable at the weekend.
Due to lack of parking in the centre, it is possible to park at the Ascona aerodrome which is well serviced by public shuttle busses.
